Elon Musk's Weight Loss Transformation Divides Fans As He Admits To Using Ozempic-Like Drug

Elon Musk recently shared a playful post on X, revealing he uses Mounjaro, a weight loss drug, to achieve his thinner look.

The billionaire’s post featured a photo that highlighted his incredible weight loss while spreading Christmas cheer at the same time.

Elon Musk’s revelation comes after President-Elect Donald Trump addressed growing concerns about his influence, noting that the Tesla boss is “not going to be President.”

Elon Musk Reveals Use Of Weight Loss Drug Mounjaro In Playful Holiday Post

Elon Musk took to X to share a playful Christmas post in which he posed in a Santa Claus outfit by his holiday tree. In the post, he revealed that he uses a weight loss drug similar to Ozempic.

In the caption, he wrote: “Ozempic Santa.” In follow-up comments, he joked, “Like Cocaine Bear, but Santa and Ozempic! Technically, Mounjaro, but that doesn’t have the same ring to it.”

The Tesla CEO noted that he takes Mounjaro, a medication designed to manage type-2 diabetes by reducing blood sugar.

Mounjaro, which has been rebranded as Zepbound, received FDA approval in November 2023 for weight management in individuals dealing with obesity or excess weight.

Musk has previously voiced support for weight loss treatments, emphasizing their potential to enhance public health significantly.

On December 11, he wrote on X, “Nothing would do more to improve the health, lifespan, and quality of life for Americans than making [GLP-1 drugs] super low cost to the public. Nothing else is even close.”

The Tesla CEO shared that he favors Mounjaro over Ozempic, joking that higher doses of Ozempic left him “farting and burping like Barney from ‘The Simpsons.'”

“Mounjaro seems to have fewer side effects and be more effective,” he added, per the Daily Mail.

Over in the comment section of Musk’s post, netizens had a lot to say about his weight loss drug use.

One person wrote, “Incredible transformation, Elon! We need you around for as long as possible,” while another exclaimed, “Damn, you’ve shed a lot of pounds.”

However, others were more skeptical and wondered why the billionaire didn’t go on a diet instead.

“Ozempic is nasty stuff. If used, it must be used briefly,” a fan said. “Keto or carnivore will end in weight loss in a healthy manner.”

Another claimed, “Ozempic will backfire. There will be a lot of lawsuits when the scope of side effects becomes well-known. This is not a magic bullet. It is just a bullet.”

Some people took the opportunity to ask Musk to help make the semaglutide drugs cheaper.

A fan requested, “Dear Ozempic Santa, please make Semaglutide cheaper for those of us who truly need it. Thank you. “

Elon Musk’s Stance Greatly Contrasts That Of Trump’s Secretary Of Health RFK Jr.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Press Conference

Musk’s perspective on weight loss drugs contrasts sharply with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s, who President-elect Donald Trump nominated to lead the Department of Health and Human Services.

In mid-November, following his nomination, RFK Jr. appeared on Greg Gutfeld’s show to criticize the widespread use of drugs like Ozempic, citing the 9 million prescriptions written annually in the U.S.

“We are spending $1.6k a month on this drug. There is a bill right now before Congress that will make it available to everybody who is overweight… that alone will cost $3trillion a year,” he said.

He added, “If we spend about one-fifth of that giving good food, three meals a day, to every man, woman, and child in our country, we could solve the obesity and diabetes epidemic overnight.”

Later, during a December 12 interview with CNBC at the New York Stock Exchange, RFK Jr. appeared to soften his stance on the issue.

The first line of response should be lifestyle. It should be eating well, making sure you that you don’t get obese,” RFK Jr. remarked. “And that those GLP drugs have a place.”

The Starlink owner’s recent post followed remarks from Trump, who downplayed Musk’s growing influence after critics jokingly referred to him as the “President” and “Vice President” and suggested he was pulling the strings.

During his speech at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest in Phoenix, Trump clarified that Musk wouldn’t be running the country.

“He’s not going to be president, that I can tell you,” Trump told the audience, per CNN. “And I’m safe. You know why he can’t be? He wasn’t born in this country.”

Musk, the world’s wealthiest person, contributed over $250 million to support Trump’s re-election and has been a frequent guest at Mar-a-Lago since the campaign’s victory.
