Following the 2025 NFL draft and after signing defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah, how much salary cap space do the Jacksonville Jaguars now have?
According to Over the Cap (OTC), Ogbah’s cap hit for the 2025 season will be $3.22 million. Once accounted for, this leaves the Jaguars with $27.12 million in available cap space that still remains for the upcoming season.
Compared to the rest of the NFL, the Jaguars have the 14th-most cap space at the moment, and that is with also carrying the third-most dead cap on their books this year as well.
After signing Ogbah along with 22 undrafted free agents, the Jaguars roster is currently at max capacity. So an addition is probably not on the horizon. However, if GM James Gladstone does want to further tweak this roster, he clearly has the salary cap flexibility to do so.
Having said that, that full $27.12 million figure isn’t all available to spend either. There are additional salary cap expenses coming down the road.
For one, the Jaguars still have to sign their incoming draft class, which OTC projects will eat up about $8.9 million in additional space.
In addition to that, the Jaguars also need cap space to assemble their practice squad, and each team wants to have reserves available for any in-season spending that may occur. The offseason salary cap figure is also based on the top 51 contracts on the books, and as we all know, there are 53 players on the regular season roster that take cap space.
But overall, cap-wise, the Jaguars are in a good spot, and that will also benefit them in 2026. Any unused cap space this season can be rolled over to next year.
