“The company doesn’t think about our fuel needs, parking fees or other needs. They are only extorting us as drivers.”
In Jakarta, the protest was centred near the president’s office, parliamentary buildings, and the office of the transportation ministry where hundreds of drivers gathered, wearing their trademark green jackets and helmets.
Drivers delivered speeches using loudspeakers and carried posters criticizing what they called unfair and exploitative company policies. Drivers also rode in a convoy through some of Jakarta’s main streets holding flags.
