No injuries reported but Ohio State under shelter in place order after shooting


Ohio State University police are ordering students and others on campus to shelter in place following a shooting Wednesday evening in the University District.

No injuries have been reported in the shooting, which occurred about 6:15 p.m. in the 1500 block of North High Street. An EMS vehicle was struck by a bullet which is believed to have ricocheted, but nobody was injured, according to dispatchers.

Columbus police and OSU police are cycling on and off of the OSU campus, according to the OSU police X page. Police have taped off the area as they speak with witnesses, canvass the area for evidence and review any video footage.

Three shell casings were found near the site of the shooting.
