Notre Dame QB CJ Carr is showing poise in Blue-Gold game

CJ Carr might be taking the quarterback competition lead if he keeps playing like this.

Notre Dame’s offensive highlights have been limited so far in the Blue-Gold spring game — the offense has struggled to finish drives by finding the end zone. However, there have been a few 20+ yard plays.

Like this connection from CJ Carr, who is engaged in a battle for starting quarterback, to freshman tight end Jack Larsen.

The offense has moved the ball relatively well under all three potential starting quarterbacks — veterans Steve Angeli and Kenny Minchey are the other two fighting for the starting job — but drives have stalled deep in defensive territory due to penalties and sacks.

The offense has probably looked the best with Carr under center.

Today’s game probably won’t be the determining factor in who starts, but if the offense works well under Carr, that’s obviously a data point in his favor.
