Dezeen Showroom: design brand Aire Collection worked with Portuguese studio Dooq on a sculptural side table composed of various geometric cuts of marble.
The Playing Games side table is made up of intersecting planes of marble with soft, rounded corners.
Available in two sizes, the tables are characterised by folded, bisected tabletops and a cluster of smaller shapes acting as a supportive base, including a metal cylinder.
The metal component creates contrast against the natural veining and striation in the marble, as well as by cut-out areas of negative space.
The table is entirely customisable, with users able to select up to three different types of marble from a selection of six possible types, as well as choose from six metals for the cylinder.
“The essential shapes of the Playing Games side table engage in an alluring game of proportion and colour, creating a perfect balance and tension between material and negative space,” said Aire Collection.
