UNC transfer EDGE Beau Atkinson set to visit Georgia football


Beau Atkinson, a highly-regarded defensive player in the spring transfer portal, has visits lined up with both Georgia and Ohio State in the near future.

Beau Atkinson is an impactful edge rusher that played the last two seasons at North Carolina and has quickly become a sought-after talent in the transfer portal for teams wanting to improve their pass rush. Over his time as a North Carolina Tar Heel, he recorded 24 solo tackles this past season.

The rising junior totaled 11 sacks in two years, demonstrating both reliable performance and the ability to make big plays. He posted 7.5 sacks in 2024, which was more than anyone on UGA last season.

Atkinson has made a name for himself as a relentless and physically imposing edge rusher, known for his skill in setting the edge and consistently pressuring the quarterback. His knack for collapsing the pocket and tracking down opposing quarterbacks has caught the attention of many elite programs, with Georgia and Ohio State seemingly becoming front-runners in the pursuit of his talents.

The team that secures Atkinson’s commitment will be getting more than just impressive stats they’ll be adding a high-energy, impactful player who brings toughness, valuable experience, and a strong desire to dominate the line of scrimmage.  

Georgia is actively look to add another EDGE rusher for this upcoming season with the only EDGE rusher with meaningful snaps is Gabe Harris, who was out this spring. Along with Atkinson the Bulldogs are interested in Army OLB Elo Modozie and Alabama A&M DL Sedrick Smith.
